The
ADI Ice Hockey Strength and Conditioning Program
is a dry land off-season/pre-season plan designed
to prepare you to advance in the sport by making
you stronger, faster, quicker, more agile and
better prepared to withstand the rigors of a
long season.
Get Stronger: Your training regimen is designed
to strengthen the core muscles and joints used in Ice Hockey. Through
the use of weights and resistance in dynamic movements mimicking
the lower and upper body movements used on ice your body improves
its ability to perform the skills. Unilateral power will be generated
by using plyometric exercisers to challenge your muscles to be strengthened
completely through the full range of motion needed for all of the
ice hockey skills.
Skate Faster: Getting stronger is the first step
in improving your speed on ice. The ADI program will train your muscles
to react quicker and for a longer duration, resulting in your ability
to be faster on the ice.
Quicker to the Puck: Being faster is not enough,
so the ADI program develops your muscles and nervous system to react
quicker, which in turn will allow you to make quicker starts and
stops.
Avoid Injuries: By strengthening the connective
tissue in your joints (particularly the knee and ankle), your body
will be better prepared once the season starts for the extensive
strain of stopping, starting and contact with other players. The
ADI program integrates state of the art cable equipment that can
provide varied movements that replicate all of the body movements
throughout an ice hockey game. |
